It Feels Like Fall - First Giveaway

Surprisingly, the weather in LA has decided to participate with the changing seasons and dip into the low 60's a few days last week. With the rare arrival of clouds and chills, I quickly jumped at the chance to whip out my newest fall purchase, this gorgeous Bar III light blue coat. Fash Fave/Fail Friday

FASH FAVE - Rachel Zoe

Wednesday evening the ultra fabulous Rachel Zoe arrived to the Burberry body event hosted by Christopher Bailey and Rosey Huntington-Whiteley looking absolutely bananas. The style guru appropriately rocked a striking Burberry design and as Rachel would say, I'm DYING over this color... obvi. There's simply no way one could ignore a statement trench like this. It's perfection in its loudest form. How can you not feel powerful in something this major? The talented designer paired the slim fit trench with a Burberry clutch, suede black boots, and her favorite gold cocktail ring. Am I the only one who thinks Rachel's "post baby" style is even better than before? She looks incredible, which is why it was a no brainier when it came to picking this week's Fash Fave. Keep up the amazing fashion Rach and while you're at it, please have a baby girl. It would be a serious fashion travesty if there wasn't a mini Zoe to leave your Elizabeth Taylor worthy wardrobe and jewelry to!

FASH FAIL - Sarah Jessica Parker

Ok SJP fans, calm down. I'm fully aware I'm probably breaking several fashion laws by choosing the fabulous style maven as my Fash Fail, but hear me out. Monday evening Sarah Jessica Parker arrived at the premiere of "Tower Heist" at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York in an ill fitting Narciso Rodriguez color blocking dress that not only managed to be unflattering on the perfectly toned star, but also extremely underwhelming. It's not that the dress is horrible, I'm sure it would be adorable on a small child, like Suri Cruise, but on SJP... it's just not working. I'm not sure if this was just a failed attempt at a blueberry and chocolate candy corn costume or if Sarah's trying to be low key in support of her hubby's new film. Either way, the messy side bun is never red carpet acceptable. Was her transportation of choice a motorcycle? Sure, I adore her Manolo Blahnick's but not even they can save this baggy red carpet mishap. Bottom line, it's not age appropriate nor Sarah Jessica Parker appropriate, which is why I simply had to choose SJP as my fail this week. From the insanely fabulous trench to the disappointing icon let down, what you do you think of this week's Fave and Fail?

Halloween in Hollywood

Halloween in Hollywood is like no other I have ever witnessed. Imagine your greatest trick or treating experience and times it by ten. As a city known for being over the top, this annual haunted night is no exception, which is why I felt a ridiculous amount of pressure last year to have an ultra fabulous costume. I literally had multiple options, all store bought and ready to go. It wasn't until the night before that I realized I'd be much happier making a costume from scratch. With nothing but a black dress and some Fall decor laying around, I immediately started brainstorming. I had remembered seeing a giant spider a week earlier at a store and instantly got an idea. I'd be a black widow... and have it be a play on words. I quickly tore apart the decor of spiderwebs we had around the house and went to town. I bent the giant spider legs around my body so the spider's body mimicked a shoulder pad. A look I'd like to think would make Gaga proud. For the rest, I threw on a black veil, created a boa out of spider webs and amped up my eye makeup. With a costume finally set in stone, my fiance and our bestie set out for the heart of Hollywood to celebrate All Hallows' Eve LA style. Naturally, we hit up Hollywood Blvd. Our first stop was Geisha House, which ditched their daytime restaurant decor and turned into a super over the top Halloween themed nightclub. After making a few rounds we headed to the grand opening of The Supperclub. Thanks to my fiance's connections we got the VIP treatment! The club was filled with retro white couches and Cirque du Soleil style aerial acts, which for a girl growing up in the southeast this was pretty insane and incredibly fabulous. After some creepy run-ins with Shrek, Gumby and a Richard Simmons look-alike it was a refreshing surprise to spot Talon from Laguna Beach stumbling down the blvd! :) Below are some pictures of my first Halloween in Hollywood. What are you guys doing this Halloween?

Halloween Costume Face-Off

With the hills of Hollywood overflowing with actors and reality stars searching for their next TMZ moment, it's easy to understand why Halloween is such an incredibly important night. For me, seeing my favorite style mavens rocking funny, cooky and even creepy costumes all down the boulevard is always a treat. One A-lister who never disappoints is Project Runway Host, Heidi Klum. The amount of dedication the stunning model puts into transforming herself, as you can see above, is truly outstanding. Girl must have A LOT of down time between seasons. Costumes like those definitely don't come in a bag at Party City. To get in the holiday spirit and hopefully inspire some of you last minute costumers, I thought we'd have a little costume face-off with some of my favorite stars from past years. I'm dying to know which celebrity costumes are your favorites. Oh and be sure to check back tomorrow to see my costume from last year and photos from my first Halloween in Hollywood. Xo.

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch

Even holidays in Hollywood are total scenes and when it comes to satisfying your pumpkin picking needs, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is an A-listers only option. From Nicole Richie to Marcia Cross, the Beverly Hills pumpkin patch is LA's most popular destination to snatch up the uber expensive orange holiday must-have's. Besides the constant hovering of paparazzi, the super cute family friendly patch doubles as a small carnival, a petting zoo, and even a souvenir gift shop. Above is a picture of my friend Megan and I taking full advantage of the props for a pumpkin patch picture op at Mr. Bones. I'm sure the over sized pumpkin playhouse was intended for the pint sized a-lister's like Suri Cruise and Shiloh Jolie Pitt but when one sees a photo opportunity with a larger than life object, one should always strike a pose. Two seconds after this picture was taken, we were quickly evicted by a three foot Power Ranger on a mission, forcing us to exit and move onto other more important matters, like posing on a giant wooden horse. Below are some of the celebrities hitting up Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch this year in preparation for their upcoming carving parties! Note Christina Aguilera's outfit below, which was my second choice for last week's fash fail.  What do you think?
