Oscar's Best Dressed

Halle Berry in Marchesa with Neil Lane earrings

When it comes to award shows, the Oscar's is the mecca so it's only expected that the stars would arrive in the most amazing fashions available. I wasn't sure if the medicine and coughing was affecting the show for me or if it really was just... bad. But thankfully even when I'm sick I can still make a good judgement call. According to the Hollywood Reporter this was the worst Oscars show in  history. Thankfully a few dresses got me through the telecast. We saw a lot of nutral colors as well as shades of red hitting the red carpet last night. By a landslide, my best dressed female of the night was Halle Berry. She looked incredible in her stunning nude Marchesa dress with Neil Lane diamonds. I also loved Jennifer Hudson's fabulous orange Atelier Versace dress. How amazing has she been looking lately? Every time I see her I wanna break out into that song she sings in those Weight Watchers commercials. "And I'm feeling Gooooooood." She has every reason to feel good about last night. Although I think she could have paired her dress with a little more eye makeup and maybe a pair of fake eyelashes, she still rocked it. My pick for best hair goes to Reese Witherspoon. The dress, well, not so much. But I liked her overall look. Below are all of my pics for best dressed. Who were your favorites?

Fabulous Friday!

Today I am very excited to share with you my pick for Fabulous Friday! It's a photo shoot that could go down as one of my favorite Glamour magazine photo shoots of all time. It’s from March 2010 when Victoria Beckham covered the magazine with a spread that was beyond fierce. Most people know her as Posh from Spice Girls. Other's may only know her as Mrs. David Beckham. But to me, Victoria Beckham is and always will be a major force in the fashion world and a serious trend setter. In the Glamour article Victoria revealed the following insight on her fashion sense and style. “I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself…. I think about what I’m going to wear before I go to bed at night…. When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele.” She is a girl after my own heart. Victoria also shared, “Sunglasses and a great pair of heels can turn most outfits around.” Those are seriously words to live by! Below are the incredibly fierce pictures from the March 2010 spread. I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Something Extra: Who didn't see Victoria's NBC special "Coming to America?" Cameras followed her around LA while she and David made the move from the UK. The show was beyond hilarious. I still find myself repeating the clever lines she said during that special. Below is one of my favorite segments.

Shoes To Dream About

It's no secret that I'm completely obsessed with heels to a Carrie Bradshaw level. No matter rain or shine I will find a way to wear a heel, even if it means running a marathon in them, which now apparently people are doing. Fabulous, I know. This past weekend I hit up Beverly Hills where I enjoyed a delicious lunch at 208 Rodeo with my love, if you haven't been, check it out. It's right in the heart of Rodeo. I recommend sitting outside, the view is to die for. You're literally right next to Tiffany's. After an amazing chopped salad I dragged my boyfriend to Sak's Fifth Avenue where I spotted the shoe of my life. There, across the store, my eye found Brian Atwood's stuffed multicolor cutout pumps. I was obviously immediately dying to get my hands on them. After obsessing over them for a ridiculous amount of time my boyfriend had to drag me out of the store. This shopping trip inspired me to post some of the most incredible shoes I could find online. Most of these shoes retail around a thousand dollars so if you're like me you'll be sitting around dreaming of them for the next week. But if you have the money, you must immediately go out and purchase them. Click the link to get the look... or to just browse all of the amazing shoes available right now!

Past Academy Award Looks

In honor of the Academy Awards this Sunday, I thought I would give you a look back at some of the show stoppers at past shows. can't wait to see all of the incredible designs strutting down the red carpet this weekend. They better be amazing because Hollywood traffic here has been out of control since the red carpet was set up on Monday! Can't wait for the show to come but like all L.A. locals, we can't wait for it go.

Check out some of my favorite past dresses!

Brad Goreski for Kate Spade Fall 2011

As we all know, ultra fab stylist Rachel Zoe and her bow-tie clad assistant Brad Goreski sadly decided to go their separate ways last Oct, leaving the world to wonder what was up next for the bespectacled style maven and his black rimmed glasses. Well fear not Brad followers, our boy found himself a gig and it's ultra-impressive. The Rachel Zoe Project alum's first big venture into the solo spotlight was working as a style consultant for the Kate Spade chic luxe fall 2011 presentation that took place this month in the Big Apple. Though it's quite the departure from sitting in the front-row, Brad was thrilled to be in the trenches backstage. "The clothes are very playful and energetic with a modern feel, which is very much in tune with my own style," he spills. "I'm excited for this opportunity!" As am I. I think the collaboration is a match made in fashion heaven. Kudos Bradley, you've done us proud. When asked what his favorite piece from the collection was, Brad revealed... “I’m loving this cheeky nerd glasses necklace from Kate Spade! I want one.” The clothes have a campy retro vibe to them and the bags, including a new style called the Kennedy, were a hit with everyone. Elle.com has already put the furry pom pom flats on their fall must-have list. When asked what the hardest part of the collaboration was, Brad told Elle "Just maintaining Deborah’s vision and her whole concept for this collection and then, you know, making it as Kate Spade as possible, but making it fresh and new and modern, and as young and cute as we could." I'm sure Rachel would agree, Brad's come a long way from the days of dressing up in her heels and fur coats... or has he?

Something Extra: Back in October when Brad left team Zoe, rumors swirled that he took Rachel's long time friend and client, Demi Moore along with him. Sources revealed that Rachel was furious and felt betrayed. While attending several events Brad declined to comment on the issue, but after Rachel's baby shower last weekend I think we can put an end to those rumors. Demi was very much present in supporting her long time stylist Rachel. Guess things aren't so bad after all.
