In the 90's, Ambrose worked for Uptown MCA Records, where she caught the attention of a young P. Diddy, who at the time was a popular party promoter and talent scout. While co-workers at the company were buzzing about the need for a stylist, June knew she was the only gal who could get the job done. She stepped up to the fash plate and began compiling her work into a look book in hopes of recruiting future clients.
Ambrose later teamed up with notorious music video director Hype Williams, which opened the closet to many more styling opportunities. “Hype opened up opportunity for me to be creative and alter the image of Hip Hop in a way that was fun and colorful.” June shared. Ambrose also worked along side Mariah Carey, styling the over the top diva for her history making “The Emancipation of Mimi” comeback. June's success is due in large part to her strong work ethic paired with her goal to create lasting relationships with any and everyone along the way. These days she rubs elbows with fashion editors, photographers and top notch celebrities on a weekly basis. As if June's credits weren't already drool worthy, she has also gone on to be a spokeswoman, author and creative director for some of the biggest brands in the country. Could she be any more fabulous?
She turned the hip hop world upside down, showing them how to wear designer fashions while still staying true to their street style. You know you're the queen of your craft if Jay Z dubs you “The Architect of Style.”
We must watch out for June’s ever expanding empire. She recently signed on to star in a new VH1 reality show all about the fabulous adventures of Ambrose.
